Pennsylvania’s Keystone Innovation Zone program is supported through the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development. KIZs are designated by the state to encourage creativity, foster innovation, and provide entrepreneurial opportunities within geographic areas and industry concentrations. The Williamsport/Lycoming KIZ focuses on diversified manufacturing, plastics, wood products, and information technology.
The Williamsport/Lycoming KIZ works with local entrepreneurs and start-up companies to develop their innovative ideas through individual, step-by-step coaching in order to bring them to fruition. In addition to offering consulting and many other direct services, the KIZ also links clients to a variety of outside resources to further develop their ideas; The KIZ facilitates partnerships between community players, service providers, economic development organizations, and educational institutions to provide clients with additional services for development, innovation, and growth.
